The Israeli occupation forces are continuing to stall on their obligations under the Gaza ceasefire agreement, deciding to drastically reduce humanitarian aid and failing to adhere to protocols for returning the bodies of Palestinian martyrs in their custody.
This follows reports from Hebrew media that ‘Israel’ was considering sanctions against the Gaza Strip, including refusing to open the Rafah crossing and reducing aid, under the pretext that Hamas had not returned all the bodies of Israeli prisoners.
Yesterday, Israeli occupation authorities transferred the bodies of 45 Palestinians to the International Committee of the Red Cross.

While the Israeli Broadcasting Authority later announced a reversal of the decision to close the Rafah crossing, a significant reduction in aid is now confirmed.

The United Nations stated it received official notification from Israeli occupation authorities of their intention to cut by half the number of aid trucks scheduled to enter Gaza. This contradicts Israel’s post-ceasefire pledge to allow approximately 600 trucks per day.
Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, confirmed that the UN was formally notified of the decision, which ‘Israel’ linked to the issue of the returned bodies. Haq emphasized that the UN is working to deliver as much aid as possible and called on all parties to abide by their commitments, including ensuring the flow of humanitarian supplies to civilians.
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor issued a stark warning, stating that the risk of famine and malnutrition persists despite the ceasefire. The monitor reported that ‘Israel’ allowed only 173 aid trucks over two days following the ceasefire, a fraction of the stipulated 600 trucks per day. It accused ‘Israel’ of using aid as a political tool, violating the ceasefire terms and continuing a strategy of “starvation as a central tool” in its military campaign.
The monitor stressed that providing humanitarian aid is a non-negotiable legal duty under international law, not a privilege granted by ‘Israel’. It condemned any attempt to condition food and medicine on political demands as a violation of the right to life and dignity.
Meanwhile, on the ground, hospital sources reported that seven Palestinians were martyred by Israeli occupation forces since Tuesday morning. The Palestinian Government Information Office recorded 14 ceasefire violations by the occupation.
Further exacerbating the situation, ‘Israel’ continues to delay its obligations regarding the return of Palestinian martyrs’ bodies. Ahmed Masoud, director of the Palestinian Center for Missing and Forcibly Disappeared Persons, stated that the occupation authorities handed over 45 bodies on Tuesday without providing names or any information about them, creating additional distress for families.
