In a major address marking the 62nd anniversary of the October 14 Revolution, Mahdi al-Mashat, the head of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council, declared that the nation’s armed forces remain on high alert, ready to respond to any failure in implementing an agreement to end the aggression on Gaza.
Al-Mashat affirmed that Yemen is closely monitoring the situation, stating that the sacrifices made by the Yemeni people “will only increase their determination and steadfastness in adhering to the just position, no matter how great the sacrifices.”
Al-Mashat also revealed that “work is underway to develop and upgrade military capabilities in all areas to enable forces to confront the enemy’s modern military technologies. “This push for military advancement, he explained, is a necessary step for readiness and achieving deterrence “in light of the fierce aggressive attack on the country and the nation.”

A Call to Saudi Arabia and a Warning on US Role
Directly addressing Saudi Arabia, al-Mashat urged a transition from de-escalation to a full resolution, calling for an end to the “aggression, siege, and occupation” and the implementation of the clear requirements of peace.
He framed this as the essential solution to “block the path for those who invest in wars among our nation’s people in the service of Israel.” In a pointed remark, he warned that “America is exploiting all the sensitivities in the region for the sake of the Israeli enemy.”
Solidarity with the Region and Praise for Allies
Al-Mashat expressed Yemen’s full solidarity with the peoples of Lebanon and Syria facing “brutal Zionist aggression,” emphasizing the necessity of a firm Arab and Islamic stance against the entity’s “arrogance.”
He specifically praised the sacrifices of those who stood by the Palestinian people, naming Hezbollah, “the free people of Iraq,” and the Islamic Republic of Iran. The speech also commended global nations and movements that have taken action by severing ties with Israel or imposing sanctions in response to the crimes in Gaza.
