Scrutinizing the terms of Gaza deal based on the US President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war in the Strip affirms that it could have been reached a long time ago. So, the key question that can be raised, in this regard, is “why now?”.
Since the beginning of the war on Gaza, Hamas and the rest of the Palestinian resistance factions have announced five clear terms for any deal: halt of the Israeli war, withdrawal of the occupation forces from the Strip, reconstruction, access of aids, and an honorable prisoner swap.

The Zionist entity, backed by the US administration, categorically rejected the Palestinian conditions and insisted on continuing the war till wiping out Hamas, forcing the Gazans out of the Strip and establishing Zionist settlements.
Numerous rounds of negotiations succeeded only in temporary truces in addition to swapping a limited number of prisoners. The war did not stop before annihilating around 70 thousand Gazans, a historic genocide that has moved the international public opinion against ‘Israel’.
When the Israeli security cabinet convened on October 7, 2023, it decided to wage an all-out war to eradicate the Palestinian resistance. The decision indirectly included the confrontation with any of the regional forces which may hamper the Israeli military action.
Indeed, Hezbollah immediately started its battle in support of Gaza, making the heaviest sacrifices for the sake of defending the oppressed people of the Strip. Yemen also started a main battle to impose a maritime siege on the Israeli enemy and strike the important Zionist targets in occupied Palestine. The Iraqi resistance groups also supported Gaza militarily, launching numerous drone attacks on the occupied territories. The Islamic Republic of Iran did engage in the confrontation, dealing destructive blows to the Zionist enemy in a 12-day war.
The losses the Zionists suffered during the war on Iran in June, 2025, obliged them to avow that the all-out war on the axis of resistance in the region may lead the entity into a historic defeat.
Consequently, the Zionist enemy confined its goals with the limits of Gaza in addition to the limited violations of the ceasefire in Lebanon. However, the steadfastness of the Palestinian resistance as well asits daily attacks on the occupation forces, the military recovery of the resistance in Lebanon, as announced by its leader Sheikh Naim Qassem, the persistence of the painful Yemeni attacks, and the Iranian threats to escalate strikes in any upcoming has changed the scene.
The Zionist prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu was in a tough clash with the opposition parties in addition to the families of the Israeli prisoners who always asked him to end the war and retain their sons. Yet Bibi insisted on continuing the war despite its closed horizons.

Here comes the role of the US administration to save Netanyahu from his quagmire. Any further military action has proved to be futile, so the resolution must be based on concluding a deal as soon as possible.
Hamas and the Palestinian resistance factions approved Trump’ plan in order to avoid elongating the humanitarian crisis in the Strip suffering from starvation in addition to the war.
Let Trump vaguely boast in his address to Knesset that the US and Israeli demands have been reached; the five Palestinian ceasefire terms have been conspicuously approved by the enemy side.
The Israeli enemy ended its war on Gaza, started its withdrawal from the Strip, swapped prisoners, and accepted the construction and the aid access to Gaza.
The heavy losses suffered by the Palestinian people are highly appreciated by the freedom defenders all over the world. Those losses have paved the way to the historic Israeli failure in its regional war. Maybe the only success of Netanyahu is Trump’s demand that the Israeli President acquit him from all the corruption convicts.
