Lebanon marks every August 14 the anniversary of its victory over the Israeli war on its cities, villages, civilians, servicemen, infrastructure, highways, bridges, and every form of life.
During the 33-day war, the Resistance was not fighting the Israeli enemy alone. Fuad Siniora government was doing its best to undermine the resistance power.
Blaming the resistance for the eruption of the war was just the beginning, knowing that the Israeli enemy used Hezbollah operation in which the Resistance group captured two Israeli soldiers in Khallet Warde area in order to liberate Lebanese and Arab prisoners held for decades by the Zionists as a pretext to launch an all-out war on Lebanon.
Demanding that the Resistance hand over the Israeli prisoners to the Lebanese government in order to stop the war was an indication of the rising insolence of Siniora and his political allies.
Describing the Resistance command as reckless and showing signs of weakness, such as crying in public, comprised a service for the enemy.
Siniora government’s moves were crowned by the political proposal to end the war on the basis of disarming the Resistance. In this regard, one the trucks carrying weapons for the resistance was confiscated during the war.
However, the steadfastness of the Resistance and its people contributed to the historic achievement which could have been better had the Lebanese government took patriotic attitudes towards the events.
Similarly, Nawaf Salam’s government is taking its negative stance against the resistance, deciding to confine weapons to the state and pushing the Army into such a suicidal step.

However, the national solidarity, the patriotism of the Army, and the awareness of the Resistance will prevent the implementation of the reckless decision of the government.
According to Al-Manar sources, Major General Rodolph Haykal has set sustaining the national stability and maintaining the national defense capabilities will be the pillars of his plan requested by the government.
