The United Nations’ newly appointed Special Envoy to Syria, Geir Pedersen announced on Wednesday that he expects to visit Turkey and Iran soon.

Asked when he would visit Turkey and Iran, Pedersen said: “Soon, I hope so,” Sputnik news agency reported.

Pedersen remarks were on the sidelines of Davos World Economic Forum.

Earlier this month, Pedersen visited Damascus and Moscow, and held talks in Riyadh with foreign-backed Syrian oppositions.
