Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri has firmly denied a series of escalating rumors regarding threats of war against Lebanon, attributing them to Israeli psychological warfare.
In a press statement on Friday, Speaker Berri categorically refuted reports that the Egyptian Foreign Minister had conveyed any threats during recent diplomatic engagements. He dismissed the circulating news as “nothing more than general speculation.”
Addressing widespread rumors of an Israeli-imposed deadline or an imminent large-scale conflict, Berri was unequivocal in tracing their origin. He asserted that these claims “originate from the Israeli media and statements by the enemy,” adding that “the Israelis have been making threats and issuing warnings for weeks.”
Further solidifying his position, the Speaker also denied that “any international envoy has conveyed a direct threat to Lebanon.” His statements aim to counter a growing atmosphere of apprehension, which he suggests is being fueled by propaganda from the Israeli side.
