For the 48th consecutive day, Israeli occupation forces have continued to violate the internationally brokered ceasefire agreement, launching a wide-ranging series of airstrikes, artillery shellings, and helicopter attacks across the Gaza Strip. The military assaults coincided with the demolition of Palestinian homes in the eastern and southern regions, marking a significant escalation.

Southern Gaza Under Fire
The violations intensified on Thursday morning, as Israeli warplanes conducted a two-stage wave of intense airstrikes on various areas of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip. According to local sources, the attacks resumed in the early morning hours, with warplanes and helicopters heavily targeting the eastern neighborhoods of the city.
Further east, in Khan Younis, Israeli warplanes and helicopters simultaneously fired upon areas behind the designated yellow line. Israeli artillery also shelled eastern parts of the city, while occupation forces continued their demolition of residential buildings in its eastern neighborhoods. The operations were conducted under the cover of intensive overflights by warplanes and reconnaissance aircraft. A state of high military alert was also reported among Israeli occupation forces near the separation fence.
Central and Northern Gaza Targeted
The escalation was not confined to the south. In Gaza City, Israeli aircraft carried out a series of airstrikes targeting the Al-Tuffah and Al-Shuja’iyya neighborhoods. The eastern areas of the city experienced continuous overflights by drones and warplanes, while Israeli artillery also struck the eastern outskirts of the Al-Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip. Eyewitnesses reported that the sounds of explosions and gunfire reverberated for several hours.
Local residents noted that the bombing focused on open areas near residential zones, and the occupation army also launched strikes on areas beyond the Green Line east of Gaza City.
Mounting Casualties and Systematic Violations
The ongoing assaults have resulted in further loss of life. On Wednesday, six Palestinians were martyred by Israeli fire and shelling in various parts of the Gaza Strip, including two inside areas beyond the so-called Green Line.
According to initial field observations, Israeli occupation forces committed 16 distinct violations of the ceasefire agreement within a single day. These included airstrikes, artillery shelling, helicopter fire, intensive overflights, and demolition operations east of both Gaza City and Khan Younis.
A Strategic Pressure Campaign
Observers view the ongoing Israeli escalation and the expansion of ground and air attacks as a deliberate attempt to exert field and political pressure in parallel with the ongoing negotiations. In response, Palestinian resistance factions have asserted that the continued violations systematically undermine any chance of reaching a stable and lasting truce.
