Israeli airstrikes hit the vicinity of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza on Sunday, causing injuries among patients and civilians within the compound and drawing accusations of war crimes from Palestinian officials.
The strike, which reportedly struck a tent inside the hospital grounds, endangered the lives of patients according to a statement from Gaza’s Government Media Office. The office held the Israeli government and its allies “fully responsible” for what it termed “systematic crimes.”

Hamas condemned the attack, labeling the targeting of a hospital a “war crime” and accusing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government of committing “brutal crimes of genocide.” Hamas called for urgent international intervention to stop attacks on civilian infrastructure and to impose protection for Palestinians.
The hospital incident occurred amid a devastating day of violence across the coastal enclave. According to reports, at least 80 Palestinians were martyred in various incidents since dawn on Sunday.

In two separate incidents, Israeli occupation forces reportedly opened fire on crowds of Palestinians waiting for humanitarian aid in the northwest and south of the Strip. One of these attacks in the south was said to have killed 38 people.
Further north, in Gaza City’s Sabra neighborhood, Israeli aircraft destroyed at least six homes within a few hours, resulting in at least one confirmed death and multiple injuries. Earlier raids in the same area caused widespread destruction.
