Amid the smoldering rubble and the indelible scars of Israeli genocidal wars in Gaza and Lebanon, one truth stands out as haunting: the insolence of the Israeli army which committed war crimes while boastfully proclaiming itself to be “the most moral army in the world.”
The Zionist army unleashed devastation for more than 15 months in Gaza and throughout 66 days in Lebanon. It targeted civilians, erasing entire communities, and violating the most basic principles of humanity, all while cloaking itself in a narrative of “righteousness”.
Al-Manar lays bare the astounding disconnect between the Israeli enemy’s self-professed morality and the grim reality of its atrocities, exposing a culture of deceit, fabrications and ethnic superiority.
Civilian Casualties
Numbers usually speak for themselves. 47,000 people have been martyred in Gaza, including at least 17,850 children and more than 12,300 women, according to figures offered by the Health Ministry in the besieged enclave.
The death toll of children and women represents 63% of the casualties, who were killed by the “most moral army in the world”.
The total death toll (47,000) means that one out of every 50 people has been killed in Gaza. Many analysts and rights groups believe the real number killed is far higher.

At least 110,265 people have been injured in Gaza as a result of the war. That’s one in 20 people.
According to the World Health Organization, nearly a quarter of the injured, an estimated 22,500 people, have life-altering injuries that require but are not receiving rehabilitation, Al-Jazeera reported last week. Severe limb injuries are the main type of injury needing rehabilitation.
According to UNRWA, the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees, every day 10 children lose one or both legs with operations and amputations conducted with little or no anesthesia due to Israel’s blockade.
In Lebanon meanwhile, figures obtained by the Lebanese Health Ministry showed that at least 4,047 people have been martyred and 16,600 others have been injured during 66 days of brutal war.
Forced Displacement and Starvation
According to the United Nations, 1.9 million people were displaced in Gaza as of October 2024 out of a population of 2.2 million people.
In a report by Human Rights Watch, the international watchdog examined the Israeli authorities’ conduct which has led to this extraordinarily high level of displacement and found these actions amount to forced displacement.
“Given the evidence strongly indicates that multiple acts of forced displacement were carried out with intent, it amounts to war crimes.”
In Lebanon, 1.4 million people were displaced from their towns across south Lebanon, Bekaa and Beirut’s southern suburb (Dahiyeh).
On the other hand, more than 1.8 million Palestinians in Gaza are experiencing “extremely critical” levels of hunger, a UN-backed food security assessment released last October revealed.
“70 per cent of crop fields destroyed and livelihoods decimated” during the Israeli war, the assessment added.
Targeting Health Workers and Journalists
In Gaza 94 health workers and 205 journalists were martyred during 471 days of Israeli genocide.
In Lebanon at least 220 health workers and 9 journalists were martyred in the Israeli offensive, including Al-Manar cameraman Wissam Qassem.
In a report last October, the UN World Health Organization’s (WHO) Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean said that “attacks on health care cannot continue to be one of the defining marks of conflict in this region.”
Raiding Hospitals
Away from targeting hospitals by aerial bombardments, the “most moral army in the world” raided several hospitals in Gaza throughout 15 months of genocide.
At least 500 people were martyred in an Israeli strike on Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza in October 2023.
Al-Shifa Hospital was raided by the occupation forces repeatedly in November 2023 and March 2024. Later in December 2024, the Israeli military raided Kamal Adwan Hospital.
During the raids, patients and medical staff faced severed intimidation and arrest, critical care was forcibly disrupted as occupation soldiers combed through wards and operating rooms.
The audacious acts highlighted the alarming impunity with which ‘Israel’ has conducted its war of genocide in Gaza.
Livestreaming War Crimes
Meanwhile, the Israeli brazenness knows no bounds, as the occupation soldiers had been posting videos that document their atrocities on social media platforms. In the videos, soldiers can be seen – often gleefully – committing war crimes against Palestinians.
In a video, an Israeli soldier is filmed dedicating an explosion of an entire neighborhood in Gaza to his wife.

Pager Attacks
Moreover, the rigged pagers and walkie-talkies which were exploded in Lebanon in September 2024, killing dozens and injuring thousands, constitute a breach of the well-known laws of war, according to legal experts.
The two waves of attacks, which took place on September 17-18, targeted children and women, as well as health workers in hospitals, in addition to thousands of non-combatant Hezbollah operatives.
10-year-old Fatima Jaafar Abdullah was killed in the pager attack today in Lebanon.

“You’re not supposed to booby-trap objects that civilians are likely to pick up and use, or objects generally associated with normal civilian use,” Sarah Leah Whitson, a lawyer and director of the US-based rights group DAWN, told Al-Jazeera last October.
Killing Its Own People
On the other hand, the Israeli army’s killing of its own people on October 7, 2023 talks many things about the ethics of this “most moral army in the world.”
On the day when Operation Al-Aqsa Flood took place on October 7th, a number of Israeli settlers were killed by the Israeli army itself. Brig. Gen. Barak Hiram gave the order during the battles: to fire a tank shell at a Kibbutz Be’eri house, killing at least 13 Israelis.
In addition to Be’eri incident, dozens of Israelis were killed by their own army between October 7 and 9. The Zionist regime has ideologically justified this, using a well-established murder-suicide pact known in Israel as the “Hannibal Directive,” designed to prevent soldiers from being taken alive as prisoners of war.
Abandoning Its Own Servicemen
The occupation army is also known for abandoning its servicemen.
Alon Shamriz, is one of those servicemen who weren’t recognized by the Israeli military as “fallen soldiers.”. He was taken captive to Gaza few hours after he had been called up for reserve duty on October 7. Later in December 2023, he was mistakenly shot dead by his own army.
Another abandoned serviceman is the archeologist who was killed in south Lebanon in November 2024.
The Israeli occupation military alleged that Ze’ev (Jabo) Hanoch Erlich, 71, entered the battlefield as a “civilian”. The claim was disputed by the Israeli researcher’s family, who said that Jabo was enlisted and treated in the field as a soldier.
In the end, the aforementioned actions, which don’t cover all the Israeli atrocities committed in Gaza and Lebanon, reveal not only betray the principles of humanity, but also reveal a staggering disregard for its own settlers. If this is how the so-called “most moral army in the world” treats its own, how can the world ever trust such a hollow claim?!
