Yemeni health minister, Ghazi Ismail, said the initial death toll from Saudi barbaric air strikes on the funeral hall in the capital Sanaa on Saturday rose to 82, while 534 others were injured.
Ismail strongly condemned the air strikes against civilians in Sanaa, calling for citizens to donate blood for the victims and urged medics to go to hospitals to help treat the injured.
At least dozens of civilians were killed and hundreds wounded when US-Saudi brutal warplanes hit with a series of strikes a funeral gathering in southern the capital Sanaa on Saturday afternoon, a security official told Saba.
It was the latest of a series of air strikes against Yemeni civilians by Saudi-led aggression coalition and their mercenaries backed by the United States, in a clear escalation against peace efforts.
The official said two air strikes hit the grand hall of ceremonies, where a funeral gathering was held to receive condolences for the late Ali bin Ali al-Ruwaishan, the father of Interior Minister, Jalal al-Ruwaishan.
The brutal airstrikes caused large fire in the hall’s building, which was completely destroyed. The civil defense teams managed to put it off.
Many residential houses around the hall were badly damaged.
The officials and residents strongly condemned the barbaric attack targeting civilians and called on the United Nations to bear its responsibility and break its shameful silence.
