Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem condemned the recent Israeli strikes on Qatar, portraying them as part of a broader, US-backed agenda for regional dominance.
In a televised address on Wednesday marking the birth anniversary of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and Imam Jaafar Al-Sadiq (AS), Sheikh Qassem described the assault as an extension of the so-called “Greater Israel” project and linked it to the themes of Islamic Unity Week.
“This aggression isn’t just Israeli—it comes with a green light from the United States. It’s a joint Israeli-American operation that clearly signals Israel’s ongoing advance,” His Eminence affirmed.
Sheikh Qassem urged regional powers and Arab publics to back resistance movements confronting Israel, arguing that such support is the only viable path to halting Israeli expansion. “This project was formalized by Netanyahu and Trump. I call on you to stand with the resistance against Israel,” His Eminence stated.

Resistance as a Strategic Barrier
Describing Hezbollah’s resistance as a strategic bulwark against Israeli advances, Sheikh Qassem emphasized, “Today, the resistance is the final barrier preventing the Israeli enemy from reaching your countries, your people, and your homes. If this line of defense collapses, neither Israel nor America can be stopped.”
His Eminence criticized calls to disarm Hezbollah or pressure it into political compromises.
“Drop the fixation on weapons. Don’t ask the resistance to surrender or make concessions. The Israeli enemy will press on—only the resistance can stop it. Do not stab it in the back,” Sheikh Qassem warned.
His Eminence questioned the global silence on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza: “Where are those who speak of humanity and justice, while genocide unfolds in Palestine?”

Political Dynamics and National Strategy
Sheikh Qassem also addressed internal Lebanese politics, reaffirming Hezbollah’s commitment to the country.
“Lebanon is our land, our life, our future. We will never abandon it—even if the entire world conspires against us.”
His Eminence pointed to Hezbollah’s role in the recent election of a new president and in shaping the government. “The resistance helped launch the new political era,” Sheikh Qassem said, describing the period between August 5 and September 5 as one of extreme volatility.

“Lebanon stood on the edge of chaos—we pulled it back. I hope the government draws lessons from this and chooses a more constructive path.”
Hezbollah’s Sheikh Qassem stressed the need for a comprehensive national security strategy. “No solution is viable without addressing the question of national defense. We are ready to engage in that discussion.”
His Eminence also credited Speaker Nabih Berri’s leadership and the cooperation of the president and army chief with preventing a governmental implosion in early August.
“On August 5 and 7, the government nearly pushed the country into major strife through unconstitutional decisions,” Sheikh Qassem concluded.
