Staring his meetings with the senior officials in Lebanon upon his arrival in Beirut, Head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani visited on Wednesday with President Jospeh Aoun at Baabda Palace.
The meeting, attended also by the accompanying delegation and the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon Mojtaba Amani, tackled the latest developments and the means of bolstering the mutual ties between the two countries.
Larijani affirmed Iran’s readiness to help Lebanon in the reconstruction project, conveying Tehran’s invitation for President Aoun to visit Tehran.
The Iranian official hailed President Aoun’s role in sustaining the national solidarity and unity in Lebanon, underlining that Iran does not interfere in Lebanon’s local affairs.
In turn, President Aoun reiterated Lebanon’s intention to reinforce the bilateral relations with Iran with the context of sovereignty and mutual respect.
President Aoun also emphasized that Lebanon is the homeland of all the citizens including Christians and Muslims, adding that the State is concerned with protecting all the Lebanese.
