Head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani arrived in Beirut on Wednesday in an official visit that will include meetings with top Lebanese officials.
As he arrived at Rafiq Hariri International Airport, Larijani affirmed the Islamic Republic’s unwavering stance to “stand by the Lebanese people.”
The top Iranian official highlighted the emotional ties between the two nations of Iran and Lebanon, noting that he would meet top Lebanese officials including President of the Lebanese Republic, Parliament Speaker and Prime Minister.
Larijani pointed to Iran’s constant endeavor to “achieve Lebanon’s supreme interests.”
“I cannot but express my sincere thanks for the presence of all the representatives of the Lebanese Parliament, as well as the members of the resistance factions. God willing, I will meet you again and talk to you about the course of events,” Larijani stated in remarks carried by Al-Manar.
He was received by Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rodrigue Khoury, Iranian Ambassador in Lebanon Mujtaba Amani, an Amal Movement delegation representing Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and a parliamentary delegation representing Hezbollah, as well as Palestinian officials representing Hamas and Islamic Jihad Palestinian resistance movements.

The Amal movement delegation included Member of the Leadership Council Khalil Hamdan and Member of Amal Movement’s politburo Talal Hatoum, while the Hezbollah delegation included MPs Amin Sherri and Ibrahim Moussawi.
As he got outside of the airport, Larijani was welcomed by crowds who gathered in the area to salute him.
The crowds chanted “Humiliation… Never”, as they welcomed the top Iranian officials.
