The Gaza Strip is grappling with an intensifying humanitarian catastrophe as Israeli occupation forces persist in targeting civilians, simultaneously deepening a deadly famine that disproportionately affects its youngest inhabitants.

At dawn on Friday, four Palestinians were martyred and others were wounded in a drone strike targeting the center of Deir al-Balah, according to medical sources at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. In Khan Yunis, Nasser Medical Complex announced the deaths of at least two citizens and the wounding of more than 70 Palestinians waiting for humanitarian aid near the Morag axis south of the city.
In a heavy toll on Thursday, medical sources in Gaza confirmed the deaths of 51 Palestinians, including 23 aid seekers who were shot by the occupation forces in what have become known as “death traps.”

Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza also reported that Palestinians were shot by Israeli snipers while waiting for aid near the Zikim area in the northern Gaza Strip, with some in critical condition.
Amid a worsening humanitarian catastrophe, Nasser Medical Complex announced the death of a child from Khan Yunis due to starvation and malnutrition, bringing the death toll from famine in the past two days to 12, including four children, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza. The death of Karam al-Jamal, 27, was also recorded in Nuseirat as a result of starvation.
The World Health Organization warned that the worst-case scenario of famine in Gaza “is beginning to materialize,” confirming that many in the Strip “are going without food for days,” while others are dying as their bodies collapse from malnutrition. The organization called on Israel to allow safe, immediate, and unhindered access for humanitarian aid to the Strip.
For its part, the United Nations World Food Program stressed the need to allow at least 100 aid trucks into Gaza daily, warning that the continuation of this situation would lead to a further spread of the catastrophic hunger.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the number of famine victims in the Gaza Strip has reached 159 to date, including 90 children. UNICEF confirms that “with every passing hour, more children die from hunger.”
As the Israeli war continues with US support since October 7, 2023, the number of Palestinian casualties has risen to more than 207,000, most of whom are children and women. In addition, more than 10,000 are missing and hundreds of thousands are displaced, amid growing international calls to end the war and blockade and save the remaining civilians in Gaza.
