A terror attack on a courthouse in Zahedan, southeast Iran, has claimed the lives of at least five individuals and left thirteen others wounded. The coordinated assault, carried out by armed militants from the terrorist group Jaish al-Zolm, occurred early Saturday morning at the Sistan and Balouchestan provincial courthouse situated on Azadi Street.
During the attack, the assailants opened fire inside the courthouse, and reports suggest they also targeted civilians in the surrounding area. Jaish al-Zolm has since claimed responsibility for this terror attack. Local sources indicate that gunfire caused additional injuries and property damage.

In an immediate response to the attack, personnel from the IRGC Quds Base engaged the militants, resulting in the deaths of three attackers and the restoration of security in the area. Medical teams from Emergency Unit 115 and Khatam al-Anbiya Hospital were deployed to treat the injured, with Dr. Mohammad Hassan Mohammadi, head of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences, confirming that victims were quickly transported for urgent medical attention, while specialist teams conducted diagnostic and surgical procedures.
Some visitors and staff were evacuated with the assistance of law enforcement, as security and police presence remained high around the courthouse.
Official figures on the number of casualties will be announced later, as authorities continue their investigation into the attack.
In the meantime, officials have urged citizens to avoid the area entirely, refrain from filming or sharing unverified information, and rely solely on credible sources for updates.
