Israeli warplanes conducted a significant attack on Yemen’s capital airport Wednesday, with Yemeni sources reporting four separate airstrikes targeting the runway at Sana’a International Airport and destroying a Yemenia Airlines aircraft.
Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz confirmed the operation on Israeli Army Radio, stating that the Air Force had successfully “destroyed the last plane present at the airport.” According to Israel’s Channel 12, more than ten aircraft participated in the coordinated strike.

Katz framed the attack as a direct message to Yemen, declaring it “a continuation of Tel Aviv’s policy that whoever launches attacks against the entity will pay a heavy price.” He warned that Yemeni “airports and ports will be subjected to severe strikes,” adding that Sana’a Airport “will be destroyed again and again” if perceived threats to Israeli security persist.
The attack follows multiple missile operations by Yemeni Armed Forces against Israeli targets. On Tuesday, Brigadier General Yahya Saree announced in a televised statement that Yemen had targeted Lod Airport (known in Israel as Ben Gurion Airport) with a hypersonic “Palestine 2” missile, while simultaneously striking another vital target east of occupied Jaffa with a “Zulfiqar” missile.
Over the course of 24 hours, from dawn Thursday to dawn Friday, the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out five military operations targeting the enemy entity, including three operations using hypersonic missiles targeting Lod Airport on Friday.
This comes within the context of Yemeni support operations. In support of the Palestinian people, who are being subjected to a genocidal war in Gaza at the hands of the Zionist enemy entity with American participation.
