The Lebanese Army units resolved a dispute caused by the UNIFIL troops, who tried to break into private properties in Jmaijmeh , South Lebanon, with the residents.
In details, the local residents confronted the UNIFIL patrol which incurred into the town in order to storm private properties without being accompanied by the Lebanese military units.
According to UN Resolution 1701, the UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) cannot patrol the Lebanese towns and villages without the presence of the Lebanese Army. Thus, the dispute started with a UNIFIL violation.
The UNIFIL patrol also opened fire in the air to disperse the property owners and threw a tear gas bomb at them. The UNIFIL troops’ violations created tension and pushed the residents to confront them and prevent their advance.
The Lebanese military units arrived at the scene and enhanced the withdrawal of the UNIFIL patrol from the town.

Lebanon’s state, army, people and resistance have always cooperated with the UNIFIL in South Lebanon, expecting that the UN troops role would concentrate on preventing Israeli aggression. However, such a performance would give a negative image about the UNIFIL’s function and intention.
Since the ceasefire took effect on November 27, 2024, the Israeli enemy committed over 3100 land, maritime, and aerial violations. The UNIFIL troops did not take any initiative to prevent them, knowing that some Israeli attacks targeted UNIFIL sites in South Lebanon.
