The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Saturday that the Zionist entity carried out the assassination of Hams Politburo Chief Ismail Haniyeh, as it vowed severe punishment.
In a statement revealing more details on the July 31’s assassination in the Iranian capital, Tehran, the IRGC said Haniyeh was martyred after being targeted “by a short-range projectile with a warhead of about 7 kilograms.”
It said that the assassination was designed and implemented by the “adventurous and terrorist Zionist regime,” blaming the US over supporting the Israeli entity.
The revenge for the attack will be “severe and [taken] at an appropriate time, place, and manner,” the statement read.
Haniyeh was martyred last Wednesday in the Iranian capital Tehran. Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei said it was the Islamic Republic’s duty to avenge the assassination of Haniyeh, “Iran’s guest.”
Following this bitter, tragic event which has taken place within the borders of the Islamic Republic, it is our duty to take revenge.
