Israeli strikes on Friday targeted a Syrian army position in the country’s south, Syria’s government said.
In a statement, Syria’s defense ministry said “at 02:55, the Israeli enemy carried out an attack using missiles… targeting our air defense sites in the southern region.”
Material damage was caused by the attack, the ministry added.
Six Israeli fighter jets entered Syria’s airspace and were flying east, media reports said, linking the aggression to a reported Israeli attack on Iran’s Isfahan.
