The Zionist entity carried out airstrikes near Damascus early on Friday, in a new Israeli aggression on the Arab country.
State-run SANA news agency quoted a military source as saying that Israeli aircraft launched their missiles from over the Golan Heights, adding that the air defenses were activated.
“Around 4:20 a.m. on Friday, the Israeli enemy launched an air attack from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting a number of points south of Damascus”, the source said.
The Syrian army’s air defense forces responded to the missile aggression and shot down some of them, and the losses were limited to material losses, according to the source.
Syria and especially Damascus has been repeatedly targeted by Israeli attacks, with the latest aggression targeting the southern countryside of the Syrian capital last Monday (January 29).
