The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have launched a large-scale raid campaign into cities in the West Bank, with a particular focus on the city of Jenin. This comes as part of a continuous Israeli aggression against Palestinians in the region.
Reports indicate that the raid into Jenin was met with fierce resistance, as confrontations broke out between the occupation forces and local Palestinian residents. The IOF continued their raid from multiple axes, causing widespread destruction to roads and infrastructure in the process.
The city of Jenin was targeted by Israeli bulldozers, which demolished the al-Wakala Street near the Martyrs’ Cemetery, an action that has shocked the local community. Adding to the tense situation, occupation army snipers were deployed on the rooftops of houses in the city, raising concerns for the safety of civilians.
Furthermore, military vehicles and bulldozers were seen throughout the city, with the main roundabout and numerous shops being targeted and destroyed. This wanton destruction of property has ignited further anger and resistance from the local population.
But the aggression was not limited to Jenin. The IOF also stormed the city of Tulkarm in the northern West Bank, engaging in confrontations with Palestinian resistance fighters. In the central West Bank, the village of Bitello and the Jalazoun camp were also raided, leading to the arrest and assault of several young Palestinians.
In the south of the West Bank, the towns of Beit Ummar and Dura were the targets of Israeli raids. These incursions resulted in the detention of several individuals, including former detainees and prominent community members.
Even the city of Bethlehem was not spared, as the IOF raided the town of Taqou and the town of Anata, located northeast of occupied Jerusalem.
With tensions escalating and confrontations intensifying between the Palestinian resistance and the Israeli occupation forces, it is increasingly evident that the situation in the West Bank is on the verge of exploding.
To make matters worse, these latest raids and detentions are part of a continuous campaign of aggression that has been ongoing since October 7th of last year. Meanwhile, the Gaza Strip has been facing relentless assault from the occupation forces for the past 96 days.
In a separate incident, the occupation forces stormed the city of Al-Bireh and arrested two citizens, Khaled Al-Tarifi and Karim Masarwa. These arbitrary detentions only serve to further fuel tensions and escalate the already volatile situation.
