A US drone strike hit the headquarters of Iraq’s Harakat Al-Nujaba paramilitary anti-terror group in eastern Baghdad, killing or injuring several operatives of the movement, including a senior commander.
Al-Manar correspondent in Baghdad, reported that the group’s senior commander Taleb Al-Saidi, known as ‘Hajj Abu Taqwa’ was among the martyrs in the strike which targeted Baghdad’s Palestine Street.
Reuters news agency also reported the strike, adding that it claimed two fighters and injured five others.
Al-Nujaba is an anti-terror paramilitary group that consists the 12th Brigade of the Hashd Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces), an umbrella group of Iraqi resistance outfits.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a network of shadow Iraqi paramilitary groups, has claimed responsibility for most of the recent drone attacks on American interests in Iraq and Syria since mid-October in response to Washington’s support for the Israeli occupation in its brutal war on Gaza.
The video below, posted by Sabereen News, shows the scene of the strike that killed the senior commander.
