Member of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary bloc MP Hasan Fadlallah stressed that Lebanese Foreign Ministry’s statement on the crisis between Russian and Ukraine reflects neither the stance of the Lebanese people nor the Lebanese State.
In a local ceremony on Saturday stressed that the Lebanese State’s institution especially Council of Ministers did not discuss such position as it did not issue any statement regarding this issue.
“Why didn’t they wait to discuss this issue at a cabinet session. We find out that many Lebanese sides started to disavow such stance and that the Council of Ministers knew nothing about this statement,” MP Fadlallah said in remarks carried by Al-Manar.
“Such stances won’t please those whom they are trying to appease,” he added.
MP Fadlallah noted that these are several sides in Lebanon who are still betting on the US support, advising those to follow up on the developments in Ukraine and take lesson from the “Ukrainian leader who was implicated and then abandoned by the US.”
“Those who are still betting on US to make change in Lebanon’s political structure are wrong since Washington could abandon them at any time. We call on them to come back to their senses.”
“What’s happening in Lebanon is a clear US meddling in our internal affairs and an attempt to sue discord between Lebanese,” MP Fadlallah said, noting that Washington has been exploiting the economic crisis and pressing through economic blockade and sanctions in a bid to secure wins on the political level.
