Member of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary bloc MP Hasan Fadlallah slammed Prime Minister Najib Mikati for “trying to appease those who offend Lebanon.”
In a statement, MP Fadlallah hit back on Tuesday at Mikati who called Hezbollah “to be part of the diverse Lebanese situation,” in response to Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah’s speech on the second martyrdom anniversary of top anti-terror commanders Qassem Suleimani and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis.
“We were waiting from PM Najib Mikati to announce a national stance and raise the voice against the repeated Saudi offences against Lebanese people, the latest which were terror accusations by Saudi King against a large segment of the Lebanese population,” the lawmaker said, in a statement obtained by Al-Manar.
“Instead of defending those whom he represents, according to the Constitution, Mr. Prime Minister turned to his people, casting doubt over the affiliation of a large segment of Lebanese people.”
“We would like that Mr. Prime Minister would have avoided such great fault which he did in a bid to appease those who insist on offending Lebanon,” MP Fadlallah said.
In this context, the Hezbollah MP noted that despite all concessions offered by Mikati, including information minister’s resignation as well as the repeated attempts to appease Riyadh, “he did not even receive a phone call by the Saudi ambassador to Lebanon, contrary to all diplomatic regulations and protocols.”
Sayyed Nasrallah on Monday, hit back at Saudi King Salman who described Hezbollah as terrorist organization. His eminence said that the regime in Riyadh, who sent Takfiri suicide bombers to Iraq, Syria and Lebanon, is the terrorist one, stressing that Hezbollah is a Resistance movement which had defended the countries of this region.
