The Palestinian Resistance group Hamas on Wednesday threatened to renew intense fighting against the Zionist entity if the occupation regime violates the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Al-Quds.
“What has happened is but a drill for what will come if Israel violates the Al-Aqsa Mosque,” the group’s Gaza leader, Yahya Sinwar, said on Wednesday, days after a ceasefire entered effect. “The occupation must know — Al-Aqsa has men who will defend it.”
He urged the residents of the Sheikh Jarrah and Silwan neighborhoods who are facing eviction to be steadfast, adding that Gaza’s Islamists will back them up.
Sinwar said Hamas has 500 km. of tunnels in the Gaza Strip and that only five percent of the tunnels had been damaged in recent aggression.
“In the coming period, we will carry out an advanced popular resistance, whose back will be protected by military resistance,” he added.
The Hamas leader also said he would welcome Israel killing him in a targeted strike.
“The greatest gift Israel can give me is to assassinate me,” he said. “I prefer to die a martyr from an F-16 than to die of coronavirus or [another] disease.”
