Yemeni Defense Minister and Chief of Staff vowed powerful retaliation for the assassination of the Head of Supreme Political Council, Saleh Sammad, who was martyred in a US-Saudi strike last Thursday.
DM Major General Mohammad Nasser Al- Atefi and Chief of Staff Major General Mohamamd Abdulkarim Al-Ghamari issued a statement shortly after Ansarullah revolutionary group pronounced martyrdom of Sammad on Tuesday.
In the statement, Atefi and Ghamari stressed that the hostile act by the Saudi-led aggression which killed Sammad is a crime that would not pass without a harsh and powerful retaliation that would “shake the thrones of the tyrants and oppressors.”
“The time has come for an appropriate retaliation and the aggression powers have to get ready for our ballistic missiles which will tear them, blow up all their strategic establishments and force them to hide in their shelters,” the statement said.
Sammad was martyred last Thursday during an inspection tour to Al-Hodeidah region in a US-Saudi strike in the region, Ansarullah announced on Monday.
