The US diplomacy has been always described as arrogant and egoistic in dealing the various world governments; Lebanon has never been an exception.
The US ambassadors to Lebanon have always behaved as high commissioners whose all remarks, meetings and moves are taken into consideration with respect to the local politics.
Superiority has been manifested in the cases of several US ambassadors to Lebanon, but the national immunity secured by the state’s commitment to the resistance has always deterred the rashness of the American diplomats.
However, since the Lebanese government took the decision to stay away from the resistance, the US diplomatic dealing with Lebanon has deteriorated to the extent of humiliation.
US envoy Tom Barrack, accompanied by former envoy Morgan Ortagus, arrived in Lebanon on a visit aimed at meeting with Lebanese officials and discussing the US paper approved by the Lebanese government, which includes key provisions, most notably the disarmament of the resistance.
Barrack and Ortagus began their visit by meeting with President Joseph Aoun at Baabda Palace.
After meeting with Aoun in Baabda, the US envoy addressed the reporters at the presidential palace and asked them to be quiet. However, he could not control his deeply-rooted arrogance, humiliating the reporters and the platform itself.
The Lebanese Presidency issued a statement that voiced sorrow over Barrack’s humiliation of the reporters, affirming appreciation of their efforts.

Head of the Media Parliamentary Committee MP Ibrahim Al-Moussawi condemned the American arrogance and its condescending attitude toward the Lebanese journalists.
MP Al-Moussawi maintained that the Lebanese authorities must immediately summon the 🇺🇸 U.S. ambassador and reprimand her.
“Those who claim to champion sovereignty, and who have long inundated us with their statements and stances, must now rise up for the dignity of their country and its citizens, and not swallow their tongues in the face of the insolence of the American mandate’s representatives.”

Syndicate of Lebanese Press Editors denounced Barrack’s humiliation of the reporters, demanding the envoy himself and the US State Department to issue a clear apology statement.
Syndicate of Audio-Visual Media Workers in Lebanon considered that using the presidential palace tro humiliate the reporter is an aggression on the Lebanese sovereignty.
It is just a sample of how the United States deals with Lebanon when it shows weakness and abandons its strengths, knowing that Barrack did not convey any Israeli concession in return for the Lebanese government decision to disarm the resistance.
Thus, only power can defend Lebanon against the military aggression and diplomatic arrogance which has serious repercussions and effects on the entire nation.
