Italy: Netanyahu Ignores Half the World’s Demands on Gaza
For his part, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani called for a ceasefire and an end to the massacres in the Gaza Strip, according to the Italian newspaper Il Giornale.
The minister stated that the Israeli government “long ago crossed the red line of a legitimate and proportionate response to the October 7 attack,” considering that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is ignoring half the world by continuing the war on Gaza.
He stressed that his country is against “the occupation of the Gaza Strip and parts of the West Bank with settlements, as well as against Israeli attacks on Christians,” explaining that his country’s goal is the establishment of a Palestinian state.
He expressed Italy’s readiness to send its forces under the umbrella of an Arab-led UN mission to build a Palestinian state.
