On November 27, 2024, a ceasefire took into effect in implementation of an indirect deal brokered by the United Nations, US, and France and ended a 66-day Israeli war on Lebanon.
The Lebanese military units deployed at the Shamaa site they evacuated just before the war in light of the Zionist groun incursion.
UNIFIL troops had scanned the area to detect unexploded munitions in preparation of the Lebanese Army deployment which precedes the return of the civilians.
The Lebanese Army called on Shamma locals to avoid returning to their town before it allows them to do that in order to shun any Israeli attack on them.
