An Israeli was killed and another wounded in a shooting attack on Sunday, carried out from a passing vehicle on Route 90 in the Jordan Valley, east of the occupied West Bank.
Israeli medical teams confirmed that one of the injured was killed as a result of his critical condition. According to Israeli military estimates, the attack was executed from a moving vehicle carrying at least two Palestinian resistance fighters, targeting Israeli vehicles at two different locations in the same area.
After the attackers fled the scene, the Israeli military swiftly deployed reinforcements to the region. The army also initiated search and sweep operations, closing the Tayaseer and Hamra military checkpoints in the northern Jordan Valley.
In a brief statement, the Israeli occupation military reported receiving a report of gunfire from a passing vehicle at the “Mehola” junction, a settlement in the Jordan Valley located south of Beit She’an in the northern Jordan Valley.
Additionally, the Israeli army radio initially reported that the attack resulted in injuries to a settler, ranging from mild to moderate. It was later confirmed that a critically injured individual was found near the shooting site. However, medical teams later confirmed the death of the critically injured person.

“Based on current information, there are two injuries—one minor and one critical. The Israeli military also estimates that the shooting was carried out from a passing vehicle,” the statement added.
In a third statement, the military reported that armed individuals “opened fire from a passing vehicle at several cars at the Mehola junction on Route 90 in the Jordan Valley.” It confirmed that the attack resulted in one Israeli being killed and another injured. The military also stated that its forces “began pursuing the attackers, closing roads, and conducting extensive search operations in the area.”
