Millions of Shiite Muslims from around the world have gathered in the holy city of Karbala, Iraq, to visit Imam Hussein’s (A.S.) Holy Shrine on the Day of Arafa and participate in prayers and other rituals.
Arafa Day is esteemed as one of the most virtuous times for seeking forgiveness and having prayers answered. Visiting the Master of the Martyrs, Imam Hussein (A.S.), is considered one of the most meritorious acts on this sacred day.
Comprehensive security and service measures have been put in place to accommodate and welcome the devoted pilgrims in Karbala.
Efforts to serve the visitors of Imam Hussein and his brother Aba Al-Fadl (peace be upon them) on the Day of Arafa and Eid Al-Adha have been robustly mobilized by the joint department of the two holy shrines at Al-Abbas (A.S.) holy shrine. The department has provided over 15,000 boxes of water and 5,000 ice blocks for distribution during the commemorative events.
Hassan Khalifeh from Al-Manar TV was present in Karbala on this auspicious day and provided us with the following report, vividly depicting the ambiance:
