The Syrian Ministry of Defense has reported a devastating Israeli airstrike originating from Athriya, southeast of Aleppo Governorate, which occurred at approximately 1:45 am. This attack targeted multiple locations in the Aleppo countryside in northern Syria.
The Ministry disclosed that this Israeli aggression coincided with a drone attack orchestrated by terrorist organizations from Idlib and the western countryside of Aleppo.
The result of this dual assault led to the martyrdom and injury of numerous civilians and soldiers. Moreover, the aggression caused significant losses in both public and private property.
Remarkably, the Syrian army’s air defenses were able to intercept the Israeli aggression in the airspace over Aleppo.
This recent attack comes only days after another Israeli assault targeted a residential building in the countryside of Damascus, leaving two innocent civilians injured. The Israeli enemy launched this aerial aggression from the occupied Syrian Golan in a blatant violation of Syrian sovereignty.
In light of these events, Russia’s ambassador to the United Nations, Vassily Nebenzia, expressed deep concern over the escalating Israeli airstrikes against Syrian civilian sites. Nebenzia called the attacks “irresponsible” and condemned them as a flagrant violation of Syria’s sovereignty and international law.
