The leader of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council, Mahdi al-Mashat, held talks with Omani and Saudi delegations in the capital, Sanaa, according to reports from Yemeni media.
During the meeting, Al-Mashat reaffirmed his country’s stance on a just and honorable peace, which the Yemeni people aspire to achieve.
He also praised the Sultanate of Oman for its positive role in mediation efforts and its efforts to bring peace to Yemen.
The head of the Saudi delegation expressed his gratitude for Oman’s important role in achieving peace and stability.
The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials from Yemen’s national negotiating delegation, Security and Intelligence Service, and Military and Security Committee.
Media reports indicated that the visit of the Omani delegation paved the way for the arrival of the Saudi delegation to negotiate with Ansar Allah movement and extend the armistice agreement.
The talks of extending the armistice and expanding its terms and conditions continue in Sanaa.
