Iran slammed presence of some western politicians in a meeting organized by the Mujahedin-e-Khalq Organization (MKO) terrorist group.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh lashed out at several Western politicians, including former US state secretary Mike Pompeo, saying they have “sold themselves cheap for a Europe-hosted circus” organized by MKO.
In a post on his Twitter account on Saturday, Saeed Khatibzadeh denounced the anti-Iran gathering in Europe as “an example of shameful Western hypocrisy.”
The spokesman said the “bought Western politicians”, including Mike Pompeo “who was proud of lying, cheating, and stealing, sell themselves cheap for a Europe-hosted circus arranged by a once Saddam-backed terrorist cult with Iranian blood on its hands.”
“Insatiable thirst for $$ & anti-Iran obsession is driving shameful western hypocrisy,” Khatibzadeh added.
Pompeo and Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa were among speakers at a gathering of the MKO terrorist group, held in Berlin on Saturday.
