LUNDSTROM TIDE supply vessel docked on Wednesday at Beirut port as Lebanon is to start oil and gas drilling exploration in offshore Block 4.
Lebanese media reported that the supply vessel has been hired by France’s energy giant Total.
Furthermore, TUNGSTEN EXPLORER drill ship is set to arrive in Beirut on February 15, local media added.
In February 2018, Lebanon signed its first offshore oil and gas exploration and production contracts for two energy blocks with a consortium of France’s Total, Italy’s Eni and Russia’s Novatek.
In April 2019, former Water and Energy Minister Nada Boustani announced the launch of Lebanon’s second licensing round for offshore oil and gas exploration in five blocks, saying the deadline for submitting offers is January 2020.
