European Union Ambassador to Lebanon Ralph Tarraf said Thursday that the new government must focus on the economic crisis in the country.
Following a meeting with new Prime Minister Hassan Diab, Tarraf said: “We have agreed that the government needs to focus on the economic issues, dealing with the crisis and setting fundamental reforms.”
“As for European Union, we are committed to support Lebanon if such reforms are implemented,” the envoy told journalists.
He called the new government to be committed to self-distancing policy adopted by former cabinets.
Tarraf, meanwhile, refused to answer a question whether he considers the government a one-colored one or that “of Hezbollah”.
