The Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is scheduled to start an official visit to Beirut on Sunday (January 10) to meet a number of Lebanese senior officials and representatives of several national political parties.
Zarif is going to meet the Secretary General of Palestine’s Islamic Jihad resistance movement Ziad Nakhala and a delegation representing the varuious Palestinian factions at the headquarters of the Iranian embassy in Beirut.
Iran’s Ambassador to Lebanon, Mohammad Jalal Firouznia, said the Iranian foreign minister is likely to attend a ceremony in Beirut commemorating the 40th anniversary of Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution.
