The huge winter storm which has been striking Lebanon since Sunday has reached Tuesday night its peak, wreaking heavy havoc across the country.
The Beirut airport-based meteorology department said that Lebanon has entered the second and coldest stage of the current Norma storm with wind speed exceeding 90 Km/hr, in a rare event for the country, the National News Agency stressed .
Earlier during the daytime, a Lebanese local was killed when his pickup truck flipped over in the vicinity of the al-Zahrani River, according to NNA.
A number of villages were isolated and separated from their vicinity due to the snow fall which reached areas 500 meters above the sea level.
Floods and strong winds have caused much material damage, according to news reports.
