Lebanon’s House Speaker Nabih Berri said Wednesday that the cabinet should have been formed before Al-Fitr Eid, adding that he would not blame a specific party for the ongoing delay of the creation of the government.
PM-designate Saad Hariri was tasked to form the new cabinet on May 24, 2018; however, the disagreement among the political parties on the ministerial shares has delayed the constitutional entitlement.
During his regular meeting with the members of the House, Speaker Berri stressed that only the secular state can end Lebanon’s problems, adding that the parliament is supposed to approve a number of important draft laws after the cabinet formation.
