Few hours after Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah told the Israelis that all their attempts to prevent the Lebanese resistance from acquiring precision missiles have failed, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned of ‘crushing retaliation’ in any future confrontation.
“If they confront us, they will suffer a crushing blow, the levels of which they cannot imagine,” the PM said during an event at his office on Thursday evening.
“I heard the arrogant words that came from the Hezbollah chief. This comes from the same man who said after 2006 that if he had known what Israel’s response would be to the abduction of three of our soldiers, he would have thought twice about doing it,” Netanyahu added.
Netanyahu’s ‘threat’ echoed threat made by Sayyed Nasrallah, during Ashura march in Beirut’s southern suburb (Dahiyeh).
“No matter what you do to cut the route, the matter is all over and the resistance possesses precision and non-precision rockets and weapons capabilities that if used in any future war the Israelis can’t expect what their fate will be,” Sayyed Nasrallah said earlier on Thursday.
