Tunisian lawmakers called on their foreign ministry to reject an Arab League statement in which the regional body’s labeling Hezbollah Lebanese resistance movement as a terrorist group.
41 Tunisian MPs signed a petition that asks the ministry to renounce AL statement, Mbarka Brahimi, member of Popular Front parliamentary bloc said.
“We firmly reject Arab League statement that condemned the national resistance in Lebanon, as we also reject attempts to inflame new war on our Lebanese brothers,” the petition read.
“We call on the foreign ministry to renounce the statement which we see as a mark of shame on the forehead of Tunisia,” the statement added.
