President of the Republic Michel Aoun received a phone call Saturday from his French Counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, in which they discussed the latest political developments, in the wake of Prime Minister Saad Hariri’s resignation announced from Riyadh a week ago.

During the phone call, Macron reiterated France’s commitment to supporting Lebanon’s unity, sovereignty and stability, a statement from the President’s media office indicated.

Macron also promised to help Lebanon in maintaining the political and security stability in the country.

Both Presidents also agreed to communicate regularly to discuss developments in the political crisis.
