The Lebanese cabinet convened on Thursday at the Presidential Palace in Baabda, approving a deal to explore and produce oil and gas in Block 8 of territorial waters.
The information minister Paul Morcos updated the reporters on the decisions taken during the session, chaired by President Joseph Aoun, stressing that the government requested a US-French intervention to stop the Israeli attacks on Lebanon.
Morcos added that the council of ministers approved most of the items included in the session’s agenda, including a number of draft laws referred to the parliament.
Speaker of the House, Nabih Berri, on Thursday called a general session for 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, to continue deliberations on draft laws and legislative proposals that were listed on the September 29, 2025 agenda.
