Israeli occupation forces have escalated their breaches of Lebanese sovereignty, violating the ceasefire agreement and UN Security Council Resolution 1701 with a new wave of attacks across the south.
The latest aggression came early on Thursday, as Al-Manar correspondent reported that the Israeli occupation warplanes struck residential homes in the southern towns of Mahrounah, Jbaa, Baraachit, and Al-Majadel, leaving several houses in ruins.

The attacks came just one day after a negotiating session between Lebanese and Israeli enemy representatives within the Mechanism Committee, attended by former ambassador Simon Karam as Lebanon’s civilian delegate.
Earlier, Israeli drones dropped stun grenades near fishermen off the coast of Naqoura and in the town of Adaisseh, raising tensions across the southern coastal and inland areas.

Throughout the day, hostile Israeli drones continued to hover at low altitude over Beirut and its suburbs since early morning, with intensified flights reported above the Grand Serail during the cabinet session.
Al-Manar correspondent also confirmed sustained drone activity over the eastern mountain range and surrounding villages, reflecting a continuing escalation in aerial violations of Lebanon’s sovereignty.

Mahrounah Municipality Condemns the Assault
The municipality of Mahrounah strongly condemned the attack on one of the town’s homes in a densely populated residential neighborhood, describing it as “a clear and deliberate assault on the safety of civilians, their families, and their property.”
In an official statement, the municipality said, “Targeting safe homes within residential areas constitutes a flagrant violation of humanitarian law and international norms and an attempt to sow fear and panic among our citizens.”
“This brutal attack has saddened and angered the people of Maharounah, but it has not—and will not—break their resolve or undermine their resilience. Such cowardly assaults only strengthen our attachment to our land, our determination to remain, and our commitment to defending our town by all available and legitimate means,” the municipality added.
