Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has declared that the nation’s resolute strength during a recent 12-day war compelled its enemies to abandon their initial demand for an “unconditional surrender” and instead plead for an “unconditional ceasefire.”
Speaking at a ceremony in Hamedan on Thursday, Araghchi celebrated Iran’s enhanced power, stating the country is now stronger than it was during the conflict in June. He framed the war as a pivotal lesson that boosted national confidence in domestic capabilities and solidified a decisive victory.
The Minister paid homage to the assassinated nuclear scientists, honoring their memory and highlighting their contributions. He described the confrontation as a “battle of technologies,” unique for being waged without shared borders.
“Their fighter jets were on one side, and our missiles were on the other,” Araghchi stated. “It was our missiles that allowed us to control the enemy’s airspace.”
Araghchi emphasized the prowess of Iran’s defense industry, noting that despite multi-layered air defenses from the Zionist enemy, supported by the US and Europe, Iranian missiles successfully pierced through and struck their targets with precision.
“For the first time, our missiles were used in a real war, revealing their weaknesses and strengths. We are in a better situation today than we were on June 13,” he affirmed.

Araghchi explained how, during the war, those who demanded “unconditional surrender” on the fourth day sent a message of “unconditional ceasefire” by the twelfth day, noting, “Of course, we defended ourselves courageously in this war and maintained that they must stop the aggression.”
