The Israeli occupation military’s aggressive campaign in the West Bank claimed more Palestinian lives on Thursday, with local sources reporting the killing of an elderly woman and a teenage boy in two separate violent incidents.
A Grandmother Killed in a Home Raid
In the town of al-Mazra’a al-Gharbiya, Palestinian sources identified Haniya Hanoun, an elderly woman known as Umm Imad, as one of the victims. According to reports, Israeli occupation forces raided her home, leading to a violent confrontation during which she was killed. The raid also resulted in the arrest of her grandson and saw other family members physically assaulted by the soldiers.

A “Deliberate Execution” in al-Yamoun
Meanwhile, in the town of al-Yamoun, west of Jenin, a Palestinian teenager was shot and killed by Israeli occupation troops. Eyewitnesses described a targeted operation, stating that soldiers fired four bullets directly at the young man. Instead of offering medical aid, the soldiers then approached the bleeding victim, arrested him, and prevented paramedics from reaching him. He was pronounced dead at the scene, in an act witnesses condemned as a deliberate field execution.
This shooting is part of a severe and ongoing escalation in the Jenin Governorate, where towns and villages face near-daily incursions involving raids, assassinations, and mass arrests. During the raid, occupation forces were heavily deployed, with snipers taking positions on building rooftops and firing live ammunition at Palestinian youths.
A Landscape Fractured by Checkpoints
Beyond the lethal raids, the suffering of Palestinians is compounded by a tightening grip on daily life. The occupation has severed the West Bank with a network of nearly a thousand military checkpoints and gates, cutting off communities from one another and transforming vibrant cities and villages into isolated islands.
This systematic fragmentation, aimed at entrenching geographical and demographic separation, facilitates the expansion of illegal settlements and the seizure of Palestinian land. The constant, unpredictable changes in checkpoint operations, with opening and closing times altered without warning, make commutes to work and school extremely difficult, further crushing the economic and social fabric of Palestinian life.
