Two Palestinians were martyred on Tuesday and two Israeli soldiers were injured in Ramallah and (Al-Khalil) Hebron in the occupied West Bank.
A Palestinian was martyred after being shot by Israeli occupation forces as he attempted to stab two Israeli soldiers near an illegal Israeli settlement in Ramallah, the occupied central West Bank.
A statement by the occupation military said that the army forces “shot dead the individual who stabbed the Israeli soldiers” during a search in the so-called settlement of Ateret.
According to the occupation military, the soldiers approached the young man for questioning when he “suddenly lunged at them with a knife.”
Occupation troops opened fire moments later, killing him at the scene. The occupation army said the circumstances “are still being examined”, and reinforcements have been called to the area as routine checks continue.
The martyr was identified by the Palestinian Authority health ministry as Mohammed Asmar, 18, from the nearby village of Beit Rima.

Public broadcaster KAN reported that the two Israeli soldiers were lightly injured.
The stabbing came on the heels of another incident late Monday. A female Israeli soldier was struck by a vehicle outside Al-Khalil (Hebron), prompting a large search effort through the night.

The occupation army claimed the driver accelerated toward troops stationed at the junction and injured the soldier before speeding away. Soldiers fired at the fleeing vehicle and launched a pursuit involving several units.
By early Tuesday, the occupation army said the suspect was tracked down in Al-Khalil. Forces located him and moved to arrest him. They opened fire at him leading to his martyrdom.
