The genocidal war waged by the Israeli occupation against civilians in the Gaza Strip has entered its 716th consecutive day since October 7, 2023, coinciding with the ongoing forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza City and the northern Gaza Strip to the south.

The assault continued violently across the besieged strip. East of Gaza City, massive explosions rocked the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood after occupation forces detonated several armored personnel carriers loaded with tons of explosives, with blasts reported over 50 kilometers away. Simultaneous shelling targeted the Tal al-Hawa and al-Sabra neighborhoods, with airstrikes hitting the Shati’ refugee camp and the center of Khan Yunis.

The human cost mounted as Israeli drones targeted civilian vehicles and infrastructure. A strike on a vehicle in al-Zawayda, central Gaza, killed child Malek Abdullah Subhi al-Zaqzouq. Another drone strike hit a tent sheltering newly displaced people in the same area, resulting in multiple casualties, including women and children. Emergency services reported a rising death toll from drone fire in Tal Al-Hawa, with at least four martyred and numerous injured in recent hours.

A Deepening Humanitarian Catastrophe
Amid the aggression, the foundations of survival are crumbling. Gaza Municipality spokesman Asem Al-Nabih warned of a worsening disaster, confirming the destruction of approximately 75% of central wells, leading to “widespread thirst” among the population.

“The municipality is unable to provide even the most basic services,” Al-Nabih stated, citing a severe shortage of vital supplies. He noted that countless families, out of options, are being forced into eastern areas of Gaza City deemed dangerous. With winter approaching and infrastructure decimated, he predicted a drastic increase in civilian suffering.

Health System on the Brink of Shutdown
The medical sector is buckling under the immense pressure of continuous casualties and forced displacement southward. Dr. Suhaib Al-Hams, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwaiti Hospital, revealed that government and field hospitals are overwhelmed and no longer able to accommodate the massive influx of people.

“There are no safe or humanitarian areas in the south; they are all overcrowded, dangerous, and lack basic services,” Dr. Al-Hams emphasized, adding that hospitals face a “real threat of complete cessation of service.”
A critical shortage of aid has forced his hospital to spend over $1 million on supplies from the now-depleted local market. This has led to the suspension of all scheduled surgeries, negatively impacting thousands of patients and closing waiting lists for the next six months.

Al-Hamas warned that the hospital administration will be forced to close some clinics within a week to ten days, limiting its operations to operating solely as an emergency hospital. He considered this a dangerous indicator of the gradual collapse of the health system in the Gaza Strip.
