Head of Hezbollah’s parliamentary bloc MP Mohammad Raad lashed out at those who call in Lebanon for arms monopoly, describing the move as hypocritical and misleading.
During a local ceremony in the southern city of Nabatieh, MP Raad affirmed that “sovereignty is a basic condition for any slogan or position.”
He slammed the Lebanese Government’s decision on disarming the resistance as “a major mistake that was committed with premeditation.”
In this context, the head of Loyalty to Resistance bloc voiced confidence that such scheme to disarm the Lebanese resistance is futile.
MP Raad addressed the people of resistance as saying: “You confronted the Zionist aggression, stood firm, and sacrificed, offering martyrs and wounded. You taught the peoples of the world how to defend the homeland, protect rights and values, and how to achieve the true meaning of life, freedom, sovereignty, and dignity.”

“Our regions were targeted, our leaders were exposed to conspiracies, and there was collusion to weaken our role and divert us from our rightful choices.”
MP Raad recalled Imam Sayyed Mousa Al-Sadr, whose disappearance anniversary comes this week, as well as great Hezbollah leaders, Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashem Safeiddine, stressing that “their blood will remain a beacon that guides the path of resistance.”
Lebanon has been subjected to unprecedented pressure by the United States, the first sponsor of the Zionist entity, to tackle the issue of disarming Hezbollah.
The Lebanese Government approved earlier this month “objectives” of a US plan to disarm Hezbollah, yielding to US and Israeli pressures.
The cabinet session on August 7 followed another session on August 5, in which the Lebanese Government tasked the Lebanese Army with drafting a plan to confine all weapons to the State by the end of the year.
