The Israeli occupation forces continued their genocidal war on Gaza Strip for the 679th consecutive day, marked by relentless air and artillery bombardments, the killing of starving civilians and displaced persons, and sustained American political and military support amid what they called unprecedented international silence and failure. Palestinian media reported dozens of airstrikes and further massacres on Friday, deepening the suffering of more than two million displaced Palestinians already facing a worsening famine.

Medical sources in Gaza hospitals reported multiple casualties since dawn on Friday, including several people seeking aid across various areas of the Strip. Loud explosions were heard as Israeli occupation forces detonated booby-trapped robots and demolished residential homes in central Khan Yunis, while Israeli artillery shelled the Abu Share’a area in the Al-Sabra neighborhood southwest of Gaza City and tanks opened heavy fire in northwestern Khan Yunis.
Four-year-old Ali Hammam Hassan succumbed to wounds after an Israeli airstrike hit his home in Deir al-Balah days earlier, and two Palestinians were martyred and others injured after an Israeli strike hit a tent sheltering displaced families near the communications junction in the Al-Rimal neighborhood west of Gaza City.
Israeli occupation forces were also reported to have blown up residential buildings while simultaneously firing tank shells in central and northern Khan Yunis, and a disturbing video circulated showing Israeli forces targeting three Palestinians who tried to retrieve the body of a casualty in the Al-Shuja’iya neighborhood in eastern Gaza last May.

Palestinian health authorities and officials described the ongoing offensive as genocidal, reporting totals that they attribute to the campaign: 61,722 killed (referred to by authorities as martyrs), 154,525 injured and over 10,000 missing. They said severe famine has claimed dozens of lives and that more than two million Palestinians remain forcibly displaced amid widespread destruction. Officials also cited specific escalations, saying that following Israel’s reported breach of a ceasefire agreement on March 18, 2025, 10,201 people were killed and 42,484 injured, and that since May 27, 2025—when they allege Israeli occupation forces turned limited aid distribution points into deadly ambushes—1,859 Palestinians have been martyred, 13,594 injured and 45 are missing.
Palestinian authorities additionally reported that deaths due to hunger and malnutrition stand at 227, including 103 children, and that medical workers killed number 1,590, civil defense members killed are 115, and humanitarian aid police and security personnel killed total 754. More than 15,000 massacres have been committed and that over 14,000 families have been targeted, with 2,500 families reportedly wiped from civil records. Citing figures from the Government Media Office and UN bodies, officials said 88 percent of Gaza’s buildings have been destroyed, estimated losses exceed $62 billion, and Israeli occupation forces control 77 percent of Gaza’s territory through invasion, firepower and displacement.
